G-Mow competes in his second consecutive Mascot Mania basketball game

WICHITA, Kan. – G-Mow Grasshopper and eight other mascots played a competitive 5-on-4 basketball contest Saturday, Dec. 5, at Charles Koch Arena during halftime of the Wichita State Shockers men's basketball game versus South Carolina-Upstate. G-Mow’s teammates included the Cartridge World “Printer," the Mattress Hub's “Cheap Sheep," Red Robin's "Red" and Wichita State's "WuShock." The opponents included the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office "Deputy Dan," Long John Silvers' "Long John Silver," the A&W Root Beer "Bear" and the Wichita Fire Department "Firepup." The opponents' fifth team member, Famous Dave's, did not show for the contest, leaving them one mascot short. Despite the disadvantage, the opponents kept it close, but G-Mow's team was able to post a 4-2 victory. It was a much closer game than in 2008, when G-Mow’s team was shutout 16-0. G-Mow snagged one rebound and nearly blocked a shot by "Deputy Dan." Watch the game in its entirety below.
